"To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied you..."
Beloved, faith is a gift from God and the Bible says that He gives each person the same measure, which means no one including the Father of Faith being Abraham has more faith then you and I. Yet we hear people make the statement "if you just had more faith or if they just had more faith God would ___________." And you fill in the blank. Often times based on what people see they will say someone wasn't healed because they just didn't have enough faith or he would have gotten that job if he just had more faith.
We all have the same measure but it really comes down to how we use it. "Faith is the SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR, the EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN." When things don't fall into place like we think they should we blame it on lack of faith and never consider another truth in the Word called sowing and reaping. Based on what I've seen in my own life when things aren't going right it is usually because I'm reaping what I've sown and not a lack of faith.
We obtained our faith by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ which means the more right we are with God the greater your faith. It means you trust Him no matter the outcome because you know He always does the right thing. But when we live year after year doing the wrong things, whatever those might be, there will be some consequences.
Don't get me wrong Beloved. God still does miracles but if we have abused ourselves for years we have to understand it will take a toll on us. If a person abuses alcohol or drugs for a long period of time it is likely to create problems with one's liver. A consequence of methamphetamine use for a prolonged period of time can make for damage to our organs and our teeth. That's just how sowing and reaping works. If you plant apple seeds you get an apple tree eventually. But I believe we open our lives up to a lot of good things and healing can be on that list, if we start doing the right things in God's sight.
The Bible says "the eyes of the Lord roam to and fro over the earth looking for people who are loyal to Him."( 2nd Chronicles 16:9) The reason He is looking for people who are truly loyal to Him is because He wants to bless them and use them to bring glory and honor to His Name. You have all the faith you need Beloved. You might one to examine what or who the object of your faith might be. We can put faith in people, or a job or a savings account and that will be who or what we are loyal to. When your faith and trust is truly in God in all things you open yourself to the great and good things of God.
Walking by faith and not by sight,
Jim Norwood
